It's been yet another sunny June day at Tumbledown Farm today. I had been thinking what a pretty little boy Silvi was. He's been sitting in the sunshine all morning on the patio. I had just popped indoors for a moment when the patio erupted in hideous shrieks. A rather daft blackbird had decided to pop down to the pond for a drink, failing to notice Silvi the sly dozing in the sun. It had ended in disaster as Slivi quickly had the shrieking bird in his mouth.
I tore out of the french windows in hot pursuit of the beast. As much as I shouted at the little bugger he wouldn't give up his prey. He's a fast mover when he wants to be. So I chased him around the outside of the house again and again, shouting at him. The whole time the blackbird was shrieking in terror. The little sod didn't seem to be letting up, but on the fourth lap of the house he weakened and the blackbird managed to wriggle free and fly off up and over the goat house. I breathed a sigh of relief and made my way back indoors. Thank god we live in the middle of nowhere, heaven forbid that anyone had seen me madly running around and around the house shouting angrily at the top of my voice at a Siamese moving faster than the speed of light.
If only I had had some shoes on, I'm now feeling rather sore footed and have shouted myself hoarse. I really love my boys but wish they didn't have to pick on the wildlife.
Silvi soon re-appeared and took up the prime sunbathing spot in the barrel waiting to be planted out on the patio. That was until Stilton spotted him and thought that that would be a rather good spot to sit too...
Silvi didn't see it that way and gave him a smack!
Stilton wasn't too impressed and went in for a good sharp bite.
And so they fought...
and tussled... Until Silvi learnt his place, and quickly retreated.
