It's been a glorious summer solstice at Tumbledown Farm today, but as it was Fathers Day dad and I went on a little adventure to Barnsdale Gardens for the afternoon. It was lovely to go around the garden and chat about the plants with dad.
Barnsdale is a favourite of mine and it was looking particularly beautiful today in the June sunshine.
It was nice to see Nick Hamilton wandering around the garden chatting to visitors too. I was particularly delighted to see that their Tulip Tree was in flower. We have a 12 year old Liriodendron in the front garden but it has yet to flower, we are looking forward to the day it eventually does.
The Prunus serrula was also looking stunning and is a tree I would very much like to get for the garden.
