Wildlife Wednesday

I spotted this majestic ground beetle hunting on the Hydrangea in the back garden this week.

He was rather an impressive fellow, although he didn't think much of me photographing him.

It was fascinating watching him fly from one part of the plant to another, carefully hanging onto the leaves with his legs.

What lovely clear shots you got of him (I'm ignoring the p*nk hydrangea!) - let's hope he eats lots of nasties for you :-D

He is a handsome chappie, isn't he? Once, SomeBeans picked one up and said to me "look at its fine bitey mouthparts". And then it bit him. I laughed.

I'm still chuckling at SomeBeans!

He was a fierce beastie and he didn't like me sticking the camera close to him at all, I'm not sure I'd let his bitey mouthparts anywhere near me!

RO :o)
